Procéthol 2G, Futurol Projet, the production of second generation cellulosic bioethanol

ARD is an active member of the PROCÉTHOL 2G consortium, alongside other leaders in their respective businesses : the CGB (Confédération Générale des Betteraviers - Confederation of Beet growers), Champagne Céréales, Crédit Agricole du Nord-Est, IFP (Institut Français du Pétrole - French Institute of Oil), INRA (Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique - National Institute of Agronomic Research), Lesaffre, ONF (Office National des Forêts - National Forestry Commission), Tereos, Total and Unigrains.

The purpose of this project is to develop and market a complete process for the production of second generation cellulosic bioethanol from a wide variety of raw materials (whole plants or lignocellulosic biomass). The FUTUROL PROJECT will take place over a period of eight years and will include a pilot phase, followed by a prototype phase. The pilot installation will be built near to ARD, on the Bazancourt-Pomacle biorefinery site.
